KS3 Geography
Students in Year 7 have 4 lessons a fortnight whilst in Year 8 and 9 students have 3 hours of Geography a fortnight. All our key stage 3 classes are currently taught by one subject specialist teacher.
At St Ivo School, the Geography we aim to teach in Year's 7, 8 & 9, is not only designed to prepare student's for the GCSE and A-Level, but more importantly is designed to allow the students to gain a detailed insight into and appreciation of the world around them. In doing so they will develop a valuable set of skills which are fundamental to many careers in the 21st Century.
This is achieved through having dynamic schemes of work, which allow teachers to mould the schemes of work to their students needs, whilst accounting for the ever evolving nature of the subject. To further supplement and develop the learning undertaken in the classroom we also offer a variety of field trips and enrichment opportunities over the course of the three years. These have proven to be highly successful in the past, and aid us in providing opportunities to help lay the foundations for students to fulfil their potential as they progress through school.
