Wishing all students, staff and parents a very happy summer! We look forward to seeing everyone in September. A'level results - Thursday 18th August GCSE Results - Thursday 25th August - see main school website www.stivoschool.org for full details.
Students in Year 7 have 4 lessons a fortnight whilst in Year 8 and 9 students have 3 hours of Geography a fortnight. All our key stage 3 classes are currently taught by one subject specialist teacher.
At St Ivo School, the Geography we aim to teach in Year's 7, 8 & 9, is not only designed to prepare student's for the GCSE and A-Level, but more importantly is designed to allow the students to gain a detailed insight into and appreciation of the world around them. In doing so they will develop a valuable set of skills which are fundamental to many careers in the 21st Century.
This is achieved through having dynamic schemes of work, which allow teachers to mould the schemes of work to their students needs, whilst accounting for the ever evolving nature of the subject. To further supplement and develop the learning undertaken in the classroom we also offer a variety of field trips and enrichment opportunities over the course of the three years. These have proven to be highly successful in the past, and aid us in providing opportunities to help lay the foundations for students to fulfil their potential as they progress through school.
To find out more about our Year 7, 8 and 9 Programmes of Study and access other resources, including revision checklists for the January and June Assessments please visit our individual year group pages.
We are delighted to welcome all of our students back to school! A big welcome to our new members of the Geography Team - Mrs Shortland-Palmer and Mrs Oldridge We appreciate it will be more difficult to see us outside of lessons at the moment but please do email your teacher with any questions. Please make sure you have signed up to your relevant Schoology course online (see your teacher for the code).
