Geography House Competition
Geographer of the Year (Royal Geographical Society)

The RGS (Royal Geographical Society) are running their annual "Geographer of the Year" competition which is open to students in all years. This year, the topic encourages students to explore their favourite place. We had some fantastic entries last year and are hoping many students will take  this opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding.

This year we are also going to run a house competition for those entering the Geographer of the Year competition. House Points will be given for all participants and further House Points and prizes for the winner in each Key Stage. As well as putting the best 10 entries through to the Royal Geographical Society competition we will award our own winners (as judged by the department) for each key stage - prize of 50 house points each and a £10 Amazon voucher one for KS3/KS4/KS5.

The final deadline for this is MONDAY 9TH OCTOBER at 3pm - entries to be handed to Miss Raine / Mr Chambers. The department will pick one “St Ivo” winner from each of the three key stages and the 10 best entries from across the key stages  (the maximum we are allowed to submit) will then be selected by the Geography Department and send off to theRoyal Geographical Society.

Please see the link below for further details and the entry criteria (this varies according to key stage). If you have any questions, please see your geography teacher or Miss Raine in N15.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ THE GUIDELINES CAREFULLY FOR WHAT IS REQUIRED OF YOUR AGE GROUP - ANY ENTRIES WHICH DO NOT FOLLOW GUIDELINES CAN NOT BE SUBMITTED TO THE RGS.

For full details of the competition please see the Royal Geographical Society website here.

The competition guidelines as set out by the Royal Geographical Society can be accessed here.
